Glen Wilham, Owner/Agent/Instructor, Lake Cumberland CDL Training School, Inc. presents Jeff Ward his completion certificate after
Jeff obtained his Class A CDL license after enrolling and completing his 160 hours of training through the school.  Born and raised in Australia, Jeff drove for 14 years in Australia and had to retest for his Class A CDL permit and licenses once he moved to the United States. After researching many schools, Jeff decided to enroll in LCCDL, Inc.  Despite the terminology difference,  ( two examples: turntable is fifth wheel, and bogies are tandems, prior to driving on the right side of the truck and all contols are located on the right hand side) , Jeff obtained his Class A CDL's within the four week class period.
Jeff said "Mates Glen and Dale did a Great job".  Glen and Dale would like to say "Best of Luck Aussie".

Making the Right Choice

This is a letter of appreciation to all those that helped Susan and I succed as professional drivers.

Let's start with the WIA Program that without their assistance it would not have happened.  Also the fine
staff and owners of Lake Cumberland CDL School.  Ths is a very dedicated group of people that really made a great difference between success or failure.  With Glen and Dale a winning combination of very qualified people to assure you get ther right start and the right training in a professioanl truck driving career.  These folks aren't just reading books for information.  Glen and Dale are former drivers and understand the ins and outs of the trucking world.  We would highly recommmend anyone seeking a professional driving job to pick very carefully who they train with and ask if your trainer is a former driver (with many years of driving experience).  If not I would go elsewhere to get someone that undertands the problems you will face in this career.  We want to privately and publicly thank all those previously mentioned for helping Susan and I literally save our farm.

GOING PLACES

Back in August of 2008, I lost my job due to the lagging economy. Sure I could’ve laid around and drew my unemployment, searched the want ads and applied for jobs that were no doubt going to be filled by someone’s brother or cousin. I could’ve also given up. But I didn’t. Below is my story. Take it for what its worth, but know that I am no different from any of you.

In October of 2008, I got off my lazy but and went to the DVR (Dept. of Vocational Rehabilitation) Due to my hearing loss and the fact that I was laid off, I was eligible for training. What to do…. I chose to get my CDL

due to the fact that I knew that professional truck drivers are always in demand, even in this economy. Where to go…. I used to be a paralegal so I know how to do my research. I got on the internet and started looking and comparing schools, I contacted the Better Business Bureau (BBB), I asked around. I talked to former students. When all that was done, I knew my only choice was going to be Lake Cumberland CDL Training School.

A very good friend of mine had let me drive some of his big rigs before I went for my permit and started my training. Later on during my training those few days of driving those big rigs would turn out to be priceless.

From the first time I met my instructor, my friend (Glen Wilham), I knew I was in the right place. Glen and Dale are both a well of knowledge and experience. All one has to do is ask the questions and they’ve got the answers. They walked me through the training step by step with words of support and encouragement. Before long I was doing things in that big rig I would have never dreamed I could do. To sum things up. I did the (160) hours of training. Glen (instructor), said “you’re ready to test”. I myself was not as sure as he was. The day came and I sat next to that State Trooper and drove that truck like I had been doing it all my life. I passed my first time and like so many others I got my LCCDL tee-shirt. I said my good-bye’s and moved to the big city. In May,2009, I landed a great job delivering oxygen and respitory equipment. I use what I learned from Glen & Dale on a daily basis. Without their guidance, support and friendship, I would not be where I am today.

Sincerely

Jackie D. Marple

Dear staff of LCCDL,
I would like to take a moment and thank ALL of the staff at LCCDL. They were ALL very friendly and very knowledgeable. They offer REAL world experience of the industry and were always cheerful and eager to answer any questions. They taught me everything I needed to know to gain my CDL, so much that the DOT inspector thought I had been driving for years and was just getting back into driving. I highly recommend LCCDL, they offer small classes which allows for more individual attention and LOTS of "hands on" time. If your serious about getting into this industry, you need to begin at LCCDL, I couldn't be happier!

Sincerely,

Don Bandach
